November 22, 23, 2025, Upcoming concerts / shows (Kansas City, MO /Lawrence, KS metro)

Even though the “Salt Shaker” is coming, Azura isn’t dead yet–

The big venue news in KC is the opening of Morton Amphitheater in Riverside, which has already announced a handful of shows, but Sandstone, err Azura Amphitheater, is still alive and kicking.

They previously confirmed the return of Country Stampede in late June (featuring Treaty Oak Revival, recent CMA winner Zach Top, and veteran hitmakers Rascal Flatts) and now have booked an April 25 date for ZZ Top / Dwight Yoakam, so don’t consider them driven out by the competition just yet.

Note that LØLØ had to cancel her show at the Truman as well as her whole tour, due to vocal polyps’ issues – our wishes for a speedy recovery.

Let’s take look at the Kansas City / Lawrence KS metro musical happenings for this weekend from November 22nd, 23rd.

Peabo Bryson, Nov 22, Lied Center- Lawrence, $19-$50

Peabo Bryson has continued to be one of the premier male vocalists in contemporary R&B of the last few decades. This two-time Grammy Award-winner has survived and prospered despite the passage of time with 20 albums to his credit, and the distinction of being the first artist in music history to have separate records topping four different charts.

His first break came during a recording session at Atlanta’s Bullet/Bang Records, where he caught the ear of the label’s then-general manager, Eddie Biscoe. Biscoe signed Bryson to a contract as a writer, producer and arranger and encouraged Bryson to perform his own songs. For several years, Bryson worked with hometown bands and wrote and produced for Bang. In 1976, he released his debut LP, Peabo. It featured Bryson composing nearly all of the songs (some with recent Rock and Rock Hall of Fame inductee Thom Bell) and a young Luther Vandross among the background vocalists.

Pentatonix Xmas, Nov 22, T-Mobile Center, $66-$242+

Harmonic vocal favorites Pentatonix is once again bringing holiday magic to the stage with their annual tour. Beloved by fans of all ages, the Grammy Awardwinning group has become a staple in holiday celebrations, delighting audiences with their signature harmonies, dazzling production, and festive spirit. We saw them back in 2016 on a non-Xmas tour and were definitely entertained.

“This holiday season, we’re bringing you the hits you know and love, the theatrical magic that makes Christmas feel so special, and a few nostalgic sounds from the past — all in one unforgettable night,” says Kevin Olusola, the group’s beatboxer. “We can’t wait to celebrate with you and your loved ones!”

Rhett Miller, Nov 22, Bottleneck-Lawrence, $25-$30

Rhett Miller‘s 2025 tour is in support of his 10th solo album, “A lifetime of riding by night,” released on October 10th, which features a sparse, folk/indie-rock sound and was influenced by personal experiences, including vocal chord surgical recovery and teaching songwriting. The tour is described as a solo show, offering an intimate setting to hear new material alongside his extensive solo and Old 97’s catalog.

The album is his first solo effort since 2022’s The Misfit and contains some of Miller’s most unguarded material yet—an achievement he attributes to revelations gleaned through his recent work in teaching songwriting at The New School in Manhattan, It also marks his first time enlisting bandmate Murry Hammond as a producer since his solo debut, Mythologies (a 1989 LP created when he was 17-years-old). “Murry was a mentor to me when we made that first record all those decades ago, and this album felt like the right time to work with him in that capacity again,” he says.” We just caught the live show in St. Paul, MN.
