Rough Trade
Iconic Rough Trade Records, who was responsible for much of The Smiths’ cult success, is looking to celebrate their 50th Birthday with a massive celebration to take place on July 17-19, 2026, at London’s Southbank Centre.
Rough Trade 50 will feature fan-favorites Pulp at Royal Festival Hall on July 18, to perform their latest More, plus all the hits you remember: “Disco 2000”, “Common People”, “Babies”, etc.
caroline will be playing the Queen Elizabeth Hall with special guests My New Band Believe on July 19.
Geoff Travis, founder of Rough Trade Records had this to say:
This year means it’s 50 years since the day the first shop opened its doors on Kensington Park Road. The Rough Trade shop, which became a distributor and then a Record label, has helped to bring into the world some of the very best music. Someone said we should celebrate! So here we are with a weekend takeover of the Southbank Centre. Come and celebrate with us.
For more information, head over to Rough Trade 50 website for full details.
So great bands, wish I was there to help celebrate Rough Trade.

of some old queen or other
has the world changed, or have I changed?
