■ CMATCMAT is an Irish musician and singer. The Guardian wrote of her music, “Her songs are mournful yet accessible, emotionally literate and cleverly crafted, but, crucially, with a huge sense of humour”. She has released three studio albums, If My Wife New I’d Be Dead (2022), Crazymad, for Me (2023) and Euro-Country (2025).
CMAT
Irish pop sensation CMAT is releasing EURO-COUNTRY (Live at St Anne’s), a live recording capturing the energy of 20,000 fans in attendance, at the headlining show at St Anne’s Park in Dublin. Recorded with The Very Sexy Band.
The “homecoming” live EP will be available for purchase on August 27, 2026 (marking the one-year anniversary of the Euro-Country album).
We saw CMAT a few times, the first in Sep 2025, writing, “CMAT and her band next took the stage. Actually, the band took the stage, and up in the balcony was CMAT peering over the crowd like sea captain, singing “Janis Joplining” while working herself back to the stage. It was quite the entrance for a person who knows how to entertain. CMAT stands for Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson. She is an Irish singer based in Dublin. She may not be known here, but across the pond she is causing quite a stir. Her three albums have been shortlisted for the Mercury Prize, her latest EURO-COUNTRY, was just nominated this week. She took Glastonbury by storm and just played Jimmy Kimmel before coming to the Fine Line. And when she launched into “Jamie Oliver Petrol Station”, frankly I was overwhelmed by the anthem-like song which was hilarious, passionate, angry and worked the crowd into a frenzy. “I feel like we’re in Dublin,” she said after the roars died down.”

■ Amelia DayAmelia Day is a Seattle-born, Nashville-based queer folk-rock singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist known for intimate, confessional songwriting and high-energy live performances. Often performing with her backing band, The Cloves, she has carved out a space in the indie-folk scene, frequently compared to artists like Brandi Carlile and Sheryl Crow
Amelia Day
Nashville-based Amelia Day announced additional fall and winter tour dates to her current headlining U.S. tour as well as support dates for notable folk rock acts The Wood Brothers and Willi Carlisle on their upcoming fall and winter tours. Day’s latest EP Ego Trip is out now.
We saw Amelia Day in Oct 2025 and wrote, “Amelia Day, a Washington state based artist, was the opener. A singer and songwriter, Day has several EPs, including 2023’s wonderfully named Therapist’s Wet Dream. Day, appearing solo with guitar, immediately asked who was excited for the headliner and after the expected cheer, quipped “that sounds like everyone”. Opening with Skipping on the Sidewalk, had Day nearly scatting vocally in that number. She mentioned this was the first appearance opening for Mei, and “I couldn’t be happier with the reception”. Day went into the above named album song, but stumbled slightly, saying “if you know me, this is a popular one; it’s called Therapist’s…you can look up the rest later”. I was impressed how she adapted to the crowd with her banter, but stuck to her Brandi Carlisle like vocals and able to slide genre wise between straight folk rock and Americana.”

Girl Tones
Bowling Green’s sisters act Girl Tones (Kenzie and Laila) announced their first-ever headline tour this November in support of their new Precious! album.
We saw Girl Tones in March 2025 and wrote, “Next up was buzzing sister duo Girl Tones, aka Kenzie and Laila Crowe, who have a handful of singles out, including latest, “I Know You Know” and last year’s “Fade Away” produced by Cage the Elephant’s Brad Schultz, who reached out to the pair on social media, wanting to work with them. Their sound is a raw bluesy mix of riot grrrl and garage rock, full of jagged riffs and pounding beats with guitarist Kenzie determined to work up the crowd into a lather. “Blame” is planned to be the next single (complete with a new music video) and the pair was happy to be playing, though admitted forty-seven days on the road (after opening for Cage in Europe) was a little tiring, though still managed to turn it up to eleven for the closing, “Fade Away”. ”.

Tiiva
Producer and sound and game designer from the Lake District, Tiiva is releasing This Could Be A Start (out September 25, 2026, on CD and digital, and released on cassette).
Tiiva says
The story throughout the album is how we as humans navigate love, neurodivergence, AI interactions, and our desire to be everywhere all at once; in the mountains, in the city. Each song represents an internal character – the optimist, the party kid, the recovering addict, the loner, the nostalgic. Some of the songs could read as romantic but in reality we are all looking for connection, and we find it in not always the most obvious places.
To celebrate the launch of the album, Tiiva will headline Spanners, in London, on September 30, 2026. Support comes from A’bear and Tonguetied.
