Meltt is headlining the Turf Club, in St Paul, on August 19, 2026.
Meltt
We saw Meltt in Oct 2025 and wrote, “Headliner Meltt was up next. The Vancouver band self-describes with the great, “Let them sonically paint your soundscape and sweep you into an ethereal dream”. With a number of EPs and two albums, most recently 2023’s Eternal Embers, the quartet (vocals/guitar, guitar/keyboards, bass/keyboards, and drums) was very multi-talented, with band members taking on different instruments across or within songs as needed. They had a slowly building instrumental intro as they got going. They also had a pretty rock & roll lifestyle lighting set up, with eight lights spread across the stage. Each was roughly the size and shape of an overhead tube lightbulb you would see in any business, except they were stood on end and could do a large number of color and pattern effects. The song Wash Over Me was a good mix of reverb and straight up rock and those lighting effects within songs were pretty top notch, switching light levels and colors throughout. Lead singer Chris Smith’s bright tenor vocals were well matched to the dreamy rock sound of the band, and Do You Ever Wonder? was a hit with the crowd with almost an electronic dance rhythm to it.”

We saw anni xo in Dec 2025 and wrote, “The room at 7th Street Entry was no less fervent. No one rushed the stage like a few young kids did at the Lake Harriet Bandshell, but there was a lot of people shouting, “I love you!” from the crowd. anni was joined on stage with Maddie Thies on bass (any pronouns), Aurelio Sandoval (he/him) on drums, Riley Jacobson Pogatshnik (he/him)on guitar and Hunter SinClair Hawtorne (he/him) on keys, dancing and all-around fun times. anni kept looking over to Hunter between songs and eventually confessed to the audience that they hates tuning guitars and has an onstage bet with Hunter as to who can finish first: Anni tuning her guitar or Hunter chugging a beer. Game on. And after a few stops and starts, the duel ended in a tie per Sam, a fan watching from the front row.”

The Pines at the Cedar Cultural Center, Minneapolis (11/22/13)
We saw The Pines in November 2013 and wrote, “Minneapolis’ The Pines kicked off a two-night residency at the Cedar Cultural Center last night in Minneapolis. The mellow night started off with special guest Dave Simonett, of Trampled By Turtles, doing a solo set. In contrast, The Pines had a full band with them. Then about four songs into their set, they added a mandolin player, as well as a cellist. It was really funny, because the scarecrow they had behind them almost fell down a couple times. I have seen them about three times, and I have to say it was a good performance. They commented on how they love playing at the Cedar. For their last few songs, they had two band members from Trampled By Turtles joined them on stage for a fun jamboree.”
