The Crocketts – Milk & Honey
Some nice Halloween cool-down tracks for you today, produced by the banana country punk of The Crocketts – a little known band from a little known town in a little known country. And the first band I ever took any notice of, due to which almost everything I listen to today has been influenced by this band and their fans. So this one goes out to Mrs D, Hol, Pagey & El Spoonio, Lucifer, Boz, the French Vegetarian and everyone else who remembers the greatness that was The Crocketts.
Anyway, take a listen to the drug induced about-what-i’m-still-not-sure Milk & Honey. It’s an old old demo recording, taken off an even older analogue cassette tape, but don’t tell me you ain’t singing along by the end. “my hand makes little rabbits on the waaalllll…”
And then the suicidle Autumn Afternoon, cos it’s what we all need at this time of the year. Just be glad it doesn’t have the demo version’s lyrics. “…and she looked at him, and she started to cry, and she ran off in to the deep dark night, and he thought about it all and he picked up the knife, he could see no other point in life…”.
If you want more, I liked the band so much I now run their only website, www.inaudible.co.uk/crocketts. Because the world does not care about good music.
