Not an April’s Fool joke, but Cat Power (aka Chan Marshall) will be headlining the Varsity Theater in Minneapolis on Monday.
Cat Power is currently opening for Mumford and Sons and has decided she play a few shows between and after this arena-sized tour.
Chances are there may not be any photographers at this show, as the last time she appeared in Minneapolis, in October 2012, she yelled at a photographer.
We still love her music, and hope maybe her “no photos” policies have changed since then.
As of this writing, no opening band listed on the venue’s website.

To be honest, we haven’t thought about 70s band Mott the Hoople since the semi-recent passing of their original drummer Pete Overend Watts in January 2017. Expect the band to play all your favorite songs, including “All the Young Dudes” (a song written by the late, great David Bowie). With all the Young Dudes dying off, this may be your last chance to see this legendary English band on stage.
The Suburbs to open.

THE INTERRUPTERS

Varsity Theater

Wow, remember the first time you heard The Interrupters play “Fight the Good Fight”? It was incredible. It instantly reminded you of ska/punk (“skunk”) bands like Rancid.
The female-fronted band is currently in the top 10 on the Alternative Radio charts (#1 in Canada!), obviously no surprise that most of their North American dates have sold out.
This is a young-people band, and considering the show is all-ages, expect a lot of moshing/slam dancing… so old people, stay in the back!
Masked Intruder and Ratboy (not to be confused with Ratboys) to open.
