Cloudland Theater is a new concert venue in Minneapolis (opened in October 2023). It’s close to the Hook & Ladder and south-east of Eagles #34 and The Cabooze.

Looking at photos of the interior, it looks like Cloudland is more like a small street café. Capacity is 150, but it looks like there’s a little more room in the open-air back portion of the venue.

We’ve never been there before, but it looks like a nice, intimate venue to see your favorite bands.

Washington’s Glitterer is currently on tour in support of their third LP, Rationale (ANTI- Records). Paste Magazine described them as “a full-band powerhouse riding the momentum of great, post-hardcore-influenced power-pop. If Built to Spill came up in the Denton emo scene, I imagine it would sound like this.”

Glitterer will stop by the Cloudland Theater, bringing with them shoegazing Phoenix band Glixen. Their new single “foreversoon,” is out now via AWAL.

Lead vocalist Aislinn Ritchie adds, “‘foreversoon’ represents blissful moments of new love and intimacy. The song harnesses melancholy chords, layered with fuzzy red melodies and gliding guitars that pull you in deeper. I wanted my lyrics to feel like a conversation that expresses my infatuation and sensuality. Time is relentless and memories are fleeting, this song encapsulates those emotions forever.”

Local She’s Green will be third band on the bill. We caught the band in 27 Sep 2023, and mentioned, “Local shoegazing band she’s green, featuring Zofia on vocals, Teddy on bass, Liam on guitars, Raines on guitars, and Kevin on drums, opened the show. Although, according to Zofia, the group is from the area, but it was their first time playing the Turf Club. We’ve previously mentioned their Minneapolis shows, such as in August 2023 or January 2022 … but never mentioned they’ve played St Paul. The group is still relatively new, so they’re introducing some new songs, such as “Clobber”. At least that’s the title they currently agreed on. Their debut EP, Wisteria came out in June 2023.”

DIY pop titan The Reds, Pinks & Purples (stagename for Glenn Donaldson) is doing a two-night residency at the Cloudland Theater, in Minneapolis, on April 26 and April 27, 2024.
