Deerhoof
with Products Band and Oyster World
at Fine Line

Beloved experimental band Deerhoof will be stopping by the Fine Line, in Minneapolis, on March 28, 2024.
Deerhoof (15 March 2015)
|
We saw Deerhoof in March 2015 and wrote, “Based on the longer than usual opening set (55 minutes), this was a co-headliner tour, with Deerhoof first on stage. If you’ve never heard of Deerhoof, they are a San Francisco band with a wide mixture of sound, from art-punk to pure pop to avant-garde to minimalistic to noise…. their music sounds just as strange as the band, currently fronted by Japanese singer/guitarist Satomi Matsuzaki. ”
Local band Products Band (previously known as the generic Products) is one of the opening band. We caught Products in 27 Jul 2021 and said, “Local band Products (Alex on guitar, Jo on vocals, Konner on drums, and Jack on bass) played a quick 30-min set, mostly containing songs from their album Pink Puma. The band recently released a single, “(On Top) A Y’all Tower Of You” yesterday (July 26). I have previously commented on generic band names, that it’s impossible for you find them online… so, personally speaking, I don’t like their name. Of course, as punk as they are, they’ll never change their name.”
Oyster World (Cleo Pupillo, Matthew Graves, Stephanie Jo Murck, Ryan Worthley) is third band on the bill.

Bailey Cogan with Lucid VanGuard (07 July 2019)
|
We saw Bailey Cogan (from 26 Bats!), as part of Lucid VanGuard’s band, in July 2019 and wrote, “Opening the show was Lucid VanGuard. Taking the stage was Karl Remus on vocals/guitars, Warren Thomas Fenzi on drums, Bailey Cogan (aka 26 Bats!) on keys, Christian Wheeler on bass, Daniel “Chavo” Chavez on trumpet … and for this live performance, they’re joined by Dave on guitars (I didn’t catch the last name when they were introducing the band near the end of their set). The group is part of the record label/collective Kremblems. ”
