Evanescence
with Poppy, Dorothy, Black Map
at Xcel Energy Center
xcelenergycenter.com
It’s an all-star 93x’s “Family Reunion” show at Xcel Energy Center, in St Paul, on Friday, September 19, 2025.
Two-time GRAMMY® Award-winning rock band Evanescence is headlining the show. The band broke through the mainstream in 2003 with their debut album Fallen (selling over 17 million copies worldwide), and recently the band’s single, “Afterlife” from the Netflix series, Devil May Cry, got over 20 million streams and over 10 million views on YouTube in just the first few weeks. “Afterlife” is the fastest-moving single of the band’s career.
Next is Poppy the strange pop/metal, weird singer.
We saw her in Sep 2023 and said, “What is there to say about Poppy? Well, she is no shrinking violet. In the “BLOODMONEY” video she slams and throws quite a few extras/dancers with a series of dance/martial art moves. She is also an evolving performance act born out of the fertile mind of Moriah Rose Pereia who first made a name for herself by creating a popular YouTube channel that PoppyTV, which the producer, Corey Michael Mixter, aka Titanic Sinclar, described as “… a combination of Andy Warhol’s pop accessibility, David Lynch’s creepiness and Tim Burton’s zany comedic tone.””
Dorothy Martin, aka Dorothy, is on the bill. We saw her in May 2022 and said, “American rock band Dorothy closed out the show. The band features vocalist Dorothy Martin, drummer Jason Ganberg, guitarists Devon Pangle and Eli Wulfmeier, and bassist Eliot Lorango. They became famous when Rolling Stone said this is a band “you need to know”, ranking them #14 on their 50 Best New Artists of 2014.”
Finally we have Black Map, featuring Ben Flanagan, Mark Engles, and Chris Robyn. The trio fuses post-hardcore, alt-rock, and hard rock … which is the perfect sound for this 93x show.
