I just discovered this image side-by-side comparison that is available in WordPress Block Editor called Image Compare.
It’s pretty neat, you can see the difference before and after. As an example, here is a photo of Mike Mills from a recent Baseball Project concert.
The first image is the original raw file, as produced by the camera in jpeg format. The second image are my corrections for it. I normally boost the exposure +1, boost the shadows up, add a little contrast, bring down the highlights, and add a little saturation to get richer/brighter colors.
I think the raw/original image is fine or acceptable in most cases, I just prefer a brighter more vibrant color. It might not reflect reality, in some cases… but it sure looks nicer.
