The monthly free Asian Night Market (Chợ Đêm) returned (having taken off the month of February), bigger than ever.

These recent Asian Night Market events (March 13 and March 14) drew in a massive crowd at the RD International Market on Beach Blvd, in Jacksonville. It was so crowded that there were no spaces to park, forcing us to temporary park in an area not intended for parking.

A couple of updates on the Asian Night Market for 2026, they’ve reduced their schedule to a two-day event, taking place the second weekend of every month… It does make it easier to just keep it to one location (RD International) and it’ll be easier to manage. The event is still sponsored and organized by local business Vu Automotive with some MC and host Madeline Myloan Nguyen.

Friday night (March 13) was not as robust as far as programming goes, but it did feature entertainer Rance Adams. Adams, based out of Jacksonville, loves working the crowd as a DJ and party-starter.

Saturday night (March 14) was packed. According to their poster, they had brought in Peter Vo, Lee Lan Lambert, Hannah Troung, keyboardist Nguyen Dung, and Tampa’s Bao Linh.

So, unfortunately, due to the parking situation (which was not great), we had to move the car, essentially cutting our coverage short. We did manage to catch Peter Vo, plus some Karaoke volunteers: Ben and Cameron (and her sisters).

I did talk to a few first timers to the Asian Night Market, who said that they were really impressed with the turn out. Some were not happy with waiting in long lines at the food vendors, but they were pleased with trying out ethnic food. Everyone was having a good time and they mentioned that they will return next month.

I think next time, we need to get there in the first hour of the event, otherwise we’re not going to get parking at all. Also, the guests are not announced until a week before the event or cancellations may be due to rain forecast… so it’s really hard to plan for attendance.
