The Block Jax Schedule (April 15-19, 2026)
The Block Jax

There’s a new venue in town called The Block Jax, that recently had a grand opening on the March 20th weekend. What I can tell is that this is a very interesting and unique setup – there are a diverse food offering surrounding the venue (burgers, hot dogs, tacos, BBQ, pita, drinks, ice cream) and the main area is an open stage with a massive television screen. Even though it’s open, there is a roof for protection from the sun and rain. There’s a dog park area, there’s a children play area, it all looks very impressive on paper. We haven’t been there yet – but hoping to stop by one of these days to check it out for ourselves.

There’s another new venue in town called Duval Hall, that sits nearby the Jacksonville Festival & Fairgrounds area. The $17 million project was created to scale with concerts or accommodate various exhibition events (such as the upcoming First Coast Comic Convention). The Hall had a grand opening with Repticon (a lizard convention) on March 28, 2026.
Details from their website:
Duval Hall is a natural evolution of that mission – a purpose-built space designed to support live music, meaningful events and the people who gather for them. At its core, Duval Hall is a scalable, state-of-the-art live music venue and event hall intentionally designed with sound, sightlines and the full audience experience in mind. This is a room built to honestly translate performances for artists and the fans while remaining flexible enough to transform into a special event space for exhibitions, private functions, tradeshows and community events.

As a non-profit venue, Duval Hall operates with a mission-driven approach. A portion of the revenue generated through all events and rentals is reinvested into community-focused programs, including educational initiatives, scholarships and the continued support of arts and culture throughout Northeast Florida.
