Fallout
Fallout is a 1997 role-playing video game developed and published by Interplay Productions, set in a mid-22nd century post-apocalyptic and retro-futuristic world, decades after a global nuclear war led by the United States and China. Fallout’s protagonist, the Vault Dweller, inhabits an underground nuclear shelter. The player must scour the surrounding wasteland for a computer chip that can fix the Vault’s failed water supply system. They interact with other survivors, some of whom give them quests, and engage in turn-based combat.
The exclusive steelbook of Fallout: Season Two is out now (May 19, 2026), via Amazon. Of course, I didn’t pre-order, so now that they’ve “sold out”, they are charging $50 currently. Like last year, I just waited until I could buy it at retail price ($30).
Unless I can get it for $30, I probably won’t bother buying Season 2. You see, I always have access to it via Amazon Prime … or if I was truly desperate, I can just grab a regular Bluray or used copy for $20.
Below are some new Fallout merchandise that I have my eyes on – maybe I’ll even pick some up for my collection.
Popcorn Bucket: At $30 for a set of three popcorn bucket (Nuka-Cola, Vault Boy, Sugar Bombs), it’s incredibly expensive if I just want one. You can just buy one for $16 each, which I feel is way too much. I bought a big plastic popcorn bucket at Dollar Tree for $1, just so you understand why I think $16 is too much. I think if they were reasonable, like maybe $6, I can go for that. I just got up to make some microwave nuclear radiated popcorn and enjoying it out of my lame $1 bucket.
Secret Lair: As someone who own a complete set of the Fallout: Magic the Gathering cardset, I would love to add this Magic: the Gathering Secret Lair x Fallout: Beyond Vault 33 to my collection. Unfortunately, the price of $40 for six non-foil cards is too much. The six cards includes new artwork for Lucy MacLean, Positively Armed; The Ghoul, Gunslinger; Maximus, Knight Apparent; pre-War Formalwear; Spirit Mantle; and T-45 Power Armor as “T-60 Power Armor”. You can use these cards in your games… but at $6.66 per card, I couldn’t use it in a deck.
To put things into perspective, for less than $32, you can get 100 cards and a complete game from Fallout: Power Play – Competitive Faction Card Game or for about the same price, you can get Fallout Checkers.
Cableguys: I have the original Fallout Cableguys controller holder, which is holding my Fallout controller at the moment. It looks like this company made “mini” version, priced accordingly at $17. The Cableguys Minis are twice as small, and meant to hold smaller items, like your phone or earbuds. I think I will spend the money and get this to hold my business card or a Game & Watch (for the watch). You have two options, Super Vault Boy or Baseball Vault Boy. Both looks cool, I kind of want them both.
Youtooz: Don’t ask me who is paying $37 for these Nuka-Cola 4.5″ Vinyl Figure, but it’s currently sold out. I think it’s cool to have a Nuka-Cola little thing, but I feel that is just too expensive for basically a paperweight. If you can put in just a little more money, the Elite Edition of Lucy is on sale for $42.
