Nidouillet Record Player Stand

After considering everything, I ended up buying a generic Record Player with External Speakers (R612 Model) for $76. It mostly came down to the price as a major factor, and the fact that it has two external speakers. I spent all of Thursday and Friday listening to my old records. I own about two crates of 12” and a shoebox of 7” and various 10” and picture discs…

You’ll never guess. As soon as I put together my first Record Table Stand, I realized it was way too small. I didn’t think I had that many records, but all my records did not all fit in my little stand. I temporarily used a plastic crate to hold the rest of my collection… but I needed a more permanent solution.
I started looking to buy a sturdy record crate, but you couldn’t find anything less than $30 (for a good one). For only a few more dollars, you can basically buy a new (bigger) stand… so I caved in and bought a much bigger (quadruple the size) stand called Nidouillet Record Player Stand for for $40. This thing advertised as holding 300+ albums. I don’t nearly have that many, but it’s a good start for my collection to grow into. Records are very expensive, nowadays, so I’m very selective in what goes into my collection.
This new record stand is nice. You can assemble it to place the stand on the left or right for your preference. It was pretty easy to put together. The LED light is just a strip, which I feel is optional. I ended up using the sticker to put it in place. I might eventually just remove it, it feels tacky. One of the thing I didn’t like is that there is no electrical outlet built into the stand (unlike the smaller stand). You’ll have to get a long extension cord, depending on where you place this stand and where the electrical outlet is located.
The “V-Shaped Holder” kind of sucks, and one of the bars was missing an interior holder for the screw, so it was useless (unless I find that missing piece). I ended up removing the front bar and using cardboard as the floor. Currently, I have some of my Absolute-sized comic books sitting in that area (that area has a nice clearance of 14 inches, so oversized books can fit nicely in that area). Eventually, I would like to replace that cardboard with a permanent sturdy wooden board. I just need to saw one in that exact dimension.
Other than one of the metal bars missing the piece, I like the overall look and design. Maybe that V-Shaped area was not designed well. I feel they could have just had a wooden board there and I would have prefer that instead. Right now, I have some oversized vinyl boxsets that doesn’t fit in the regular area, so it’s sitting in the “Mesh Fence” area (since there is no ceiling). That Mesh area is actually my favorite, as I can display the album artwork… plus it’s easy access, so it’s the area where I place the album when I’m playing it in the record player.
I think my next thing is to upgrade my el cheapo Record Player to an automatic record player. I didn’t think that would bother me as much, but it’s become a real chore to manual drop the needle. The worst part is when it reaches the end, I have to manually return the need to home. It’s a small thing, but when you do it a lot, it becomes annoying! So, I think I need to upgrade the record player to an automatic one… maybe something with built-in speakers or something that can use Bluetooth speakers.
