CMJ 2010

CMJ (College Music Journal) is a loose Music and Movies festival that takes places over several venues, but unlike SXSW, they don’t all happen on three blocks. From my understanding, because of the way New York’s venues are located, you really have to take the subway or bus to get around (unlike SXSW, where you just walk to your next gig).
The official dates for CMJ in 2010 is October 19th to the 23rd, but expect pre-CMJ parties and post-CMJ come down parties.
I have never been to CMJ and always wanted to check it out, but New York’s a bit of a trek for me. Lara covered CMJ in 2007 and Kate G will be there this year, so hopefully we’ll hear a report from the woman on the scene.
