You know I love the Beatles (who doesn’t?), as I’ve previously mentioned. Today (October 17th), Ringo Starr announced that his All Starr Band will tour the Pacific Rim this winter with select dates in New Zealand, Australia and Japan. The All Starr Band is the same lineup from this previous summer, featuring Steve Lukather (Toto), Richard Page (Mr.Mister), Todd Rundgren, Mark Rivera, Gregg Rolie (Santana & Journey) and Gregg Bissonette.
“The tour this summer was just GREAT – I love playing with this band and I can’t wait to get back out and play with them again,” Ringo said. “I am looking forward to revisiting Japan with the All Starrs and of course New Zealand and Australia. Peace & Love!”
Yes, it wouldn’t be a quote unless he said, “Peace & Love.”
The confirmed dates are as follows:
Feb 9 – Vector Arena, Auckland, New Zealand
Feb 25 & 26 –Zepp Arena, Tokyo, Japan
Feb 27 – Zepp Hall, Nagoya, Japan
March 1 – Zepp Hall, Osaka, Japan
The dates for Australia will be announced October 26.

Diamond Rings (aka John O’Regan) is currently on tour in America. Apparently he was one of the founding members of my favorite Thomas Hardy-referenced band, The D’Urbervilles.
Diamond Rings released his debut album in 2010, but since then, he was picked up by Astralwerks, who re-released his album last year. His latest album, Free Dimensional, will be coming out this October 22nd. Look for his national television debut on The Late Show with David Letterman on October 26th.
I will be there on October 27th to check him out. I’m happy to announced that Australia’s Gold Fields are opening up for most of Diamond Rings’ shows in America.

What’s the deal with Kim Kelley Deal (* see comment below)? She’s teaming up with Ampline’s Mike Montgomery to start a new band called R. Ring.
I have absolutely no details about the band, other than that they’re releasing a debut 7″ orange-tinted through Misra Records for “Fallout & Fire” and b-side of “See.” You can listen to the a-side on Soundcloud.
Cover artwork was drawn by their “weird friend” Ali Calis at Able Projects.
