Youngblood Hawke

You might recall that Youngblood Hawke was in town last year with Passion Pit. The band will be releasing Wake Up on April 30th, 2013, on Republic Records. In the meantime, you can still pick up their remix EP for We Come Running, available now. …
Young music fans turned out for a late show of Youngblood Hawke and Colourist on a Monday night at the Triple Rock Social Club in Minneapolis.

THE COLOURIST

Colourist Setlist

So, I have a confession. I love girl drummers. Possibly explains why we do so much San Ciso coverage. Anyway, I wasn’t expecting to like The Colourist that much, but they totally won me over their boy-girl catchy fun pop songs.

Songs on their setlist: “Put the Fire Out”, “What Can I Say”, “Wishing Wells”, “Say You Need Me” (my favorite song of the night), “Yes Yes”, “Young Hearts”, “Little Games”, and “We Won’t Go Home”.

Shooting Youngblood Hawke was incredibly hard because of the lack of proper lights at the Triple Rock. The California band had high energy, especially singer Sam Martin, who jumped around throughout their set!

As expected, the young band did a lot of songs from their debut album, Wake Up, released last Tuesday (April 30th) via Republic Records.
If you look at their setlist, they actually ended their show with “We Come Running”. They went off stage and came back for the eventual encores of: “Sleepless Streets”, “Forever”, and “Glacier”.

The biggest reaction of the night was for “Forever”, clearly the crowd’s favorite song.

The Colourist and Youngblood Hawke are currently on tour in North America. If you like dancy pop songs, you definitely need to check out these two young bands now.
