Fleet Foxes Setlist

Although absent from the music scene since 2013, Fleet Foxes’ recent double sold out shows at the Palace Theatre in St Paul (on September 30 and October 1), proved that the band has not been forgotten.
Canadian indie band Nap Eyes (vocalist Nigel Chapman, guitarist Brad Loughead, bassist Josh Salter and drummer Seamus Dalton) opened up the show.
The band was “super stoked” to be playing with Fleet Foxes, with singer Nigel Chapman confessing that it was “sweet to be here”, and that he was a huge fan “when I was 21.” It was truly an honor for them to open, and “we’re happy to be here, we’ll try our best to be our selves.”
With only two albums under their belt, the band played a good mix of both albums, including ‘Mixer’ from Thought Rock Fish Scale and ‘Dark Creedence’ from Whine of the Mystic. Both albums are available on Paradise of Bachelors.
Wasn’t sure if it was intentional, but their live version of ‘Stargazer’ sounded a bit like Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Say You Love Me’.
After a casual reference to Nirvana’s ‘Rape Me’, the band ended their set with ‘No Fear of Hellfire’.
After a three year hiatus, Fleet Foxes announced that they were indeed back together and working on a new album, their first new record in six years, on January 1, 2017. The third studio album, entitled Crack-Up (Nonesuch Records), would be a concept album. The album would begin exactly where Helplessness Blues ended.
The band is currently lead singer/guitarist Robin Pecknold, guitarist/mandolin player Skyler Skjelset, keys Casey Wescott, bassist Christian Wargo, multi-instrumentalist (such as violin, saxophone, woodwinds) Morgan Henderson, and live drummer Matt Barrick (from The Walkmen).
Together with the custom film projections over the band, they produced a cohesive landscape of sight and sound.
After their set, Robin Pecknold came back by himself on stage. He offered to play some request. Almost immediately everyone started shouting a variety of Fleet Foxes’ song titles. Pecknold, determining which ones he could play, settled on ‘If You Need To, Keep Time on Me’ and ‘Montezuma’. After another solo song called ‘Oliver James’, the rest of the band joined Pecknold on stage to play ‘Drops In The River’ and ending with the title track of their new album, ‘Crack-Up’.
