Update 10/28/2025: In recent John Byrne talks, did you know that George Perez actually did most of the heavy-lifting for their collaboration for Action Comics #600?  Byrne did very loose pencils, leaving Perez to fill in all the details. Example below. Update: Another example, courtesy of Isamu Hideaki-Yukinori‬.

Update 10/13/2025: Some fans are still not convinced about the bad job DC Comics did on the original Judas Contract trades (and subsequent reprints and reissues – which includes the facsimile editions and all digital versions of the Judas Contract). In fact, all Judas Contract pre-DC Finest suffers from the same problems.
The biggest problem is the removal of the title and credits.  The other problem is the bad color reproduction. I believe DC just scanned in the printed pages, so any imperfections on the original print will show up on digital – example: color bleeding outside the lined artwork. There may be other problems, such as poor art reproduction, or no letter pages, etc., but the two I noticed right away are the bad colors and credits.
Anyway, In all my years of collecting comics, I’m so happy that DC Finest restored and fixed all the problems with the Judas Contract, and you can currently buy it for $26 on Amazon, much lower than what I originally paid for this 530-page book. They did a fantastic job on DC Finest that is the main reason why I started collecting the line and now owns about 14 books (still planning on getting the entire line if I can afford it).
Below you will find a side-by-side comparison between DC’s digital Judas Contract and DC Finest.  I tried to match the two panels, but it is likely slightly off and not perfect. That’s because, at this moment, there is no digital version of DC Finest to get a perfect screen capture.  Just note the finer line details and none-bleeding colors.
DC Digital vs DC Finest

Hello, this is a call to other George Perez fans, who might be able to help me out. As you know, my old webhost, TypePad is closing its door on September 30, 2025, and I’m temporarily moving George Perez-related material to wheartm.com (WordPress). If you can point me to a hosting solution (preferably free or very low cost), or you can donate storage – please email me.

Recently, colorist Allen Passalaqua mentioned on his Instagram page that he received half of the cover and worked on it thinking it as one piece. When he received the second part of the color, it was a challenge to try and match the colors so he rendered it in red. He decided to re-render the covers to have more natural lighting.

Image comparison – the image on the left was the published cover. The image on the right is the corrected colors. Please move the bar left or right to see the changes.

Enjoy the George Perez gallery.
