October 10-13, 2025 Upcoming concerts / shows (Kansas City, MO /Lawrence, KS metro)

Rush is back and touring!

The news recently broke that the longtime Canadian legends are returning to the road next year, with the Peart family-approved Anika Nilles (who’s toured w Jeff Beck) behind the kit. Closest stop is the United Center in Chicago, which might be worth a roadtrip, though expect more dates to come.

Speaking of future dates, start already thinking about 2026, as Louis Tomlinson, Doja Cat, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Cardi B, and Eric Church, are just a few who have already announced and locked in their KC dates. Another reminder that this week’s X/Los Lobos show and tour are canceled due to health reasons too. Did we mention Rush is back?!?

Couple of cool shows on a Monday, so we’ll stretch this one a bit- Let’s take look at the Kansas City / Lawrence KS metro musical happenings for the (extended) WEEKEND of October 10th through October 13th.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 11

Molly Tuttle, Oct 11, Liberty Hall- Lawrence, $47-$98

The Americana roots musician’s new album, So Long Little Miss Sunshine was released August 15 via Nonesuch and is currently on her The Highway Knows tour, making a stop in downtown Lawrence. Tuttle has two Grammy Award-winning albums and a Best New Artist nomination and the new album’s lead single, “That’s Gonna Leave A Mark” hit #1 on Americana Radio and songs “The Highway Knows” and “Old Me (New Wig)” followed ahead of the full-length,

The new record blends pop, rock, and country and is described as her most vulnerable and self-defined release to date: the album art shows Tuttle both with and without wigs, a powerful nod to her lifelong experience with alopecia areata, an autoimmune condition that caused her to lose her hair at age three. “This record was a way of saying goodbye to the version of myself that tried to blend in, to be ‘sunshine’ for everyone,” she says. “Now I’m just trying to be real.”

The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Herman’s Hermits, Gerry and the Pacemakers stormed from across the pond in 1964 and this exciting concert will explore the unforgettable pop culture movement through the prism of our jazz orchestra.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 12

X with Los Lobos, Oct 12, Uptown, CANCELED

MONDAY OCTOBER 13

Mirador, Oct 13, Granada- Lawrence, $25-$35

Mirador is the band co-founded by Grammy® Award-winning Greta Van Fleet co-founder Jake Kiszka and Ida Mae’s Chris Turpin, and just released their debut self-titled album via Republic Records. “MIRADOR comes from a deep passion for rock ‘n’ roll, early folk, and country blues as well as folklore,” says Turpin. “Our world lives in those traditions,” Kiszka adds. “There’s an unspoken mysticism. You can trace it back to the stories of meeting the devil at the crossroads, selling your soul, and losing your mind to the wind. Mirador definitely inhabits a lot of that. We’re hyper aware of our lineage, so we can build our own future as a band. It’s two guitar players from notable groups coming together to create a new mythology. As soon as we were in uncharted territory, we knew we were doing something right.”

Kiszka and Turpin met in 2018 when Ida Mae opened for GVF during a sold-out three-night stand at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. Kiszka and Turpin further bonded by way of late-night jam sessions fueled by wine and a shared passion for everyone from Charley Patton, Muddy Waters, and Lightnin’ Hopkins to Martin Carthy, Bert Jansch, and Fairport Convention. “We were like long lost brothers,” says Kiszka. “After we wrote those songs, I realized we had a chemistry I’d never had with anybody but my own brothers. It was obvious we needed to do this.”
