Los Angeles alt-pop songstress KiNG MALA will be headlining the 7th Street Entry, in Minneapolis, on December 4, 2025, in support of her debut album And You Who Drowned In The Grief of A Golden Thing.
We saw King Mala Oct 2022 and wrote, “Alternative pop artist King Mala (stylized as KiNG MALA) is the stagename for Areli Castro. She created her stagename from the Spanish word for “mala”, which means “bad b**ch”. Areli is really excited to be on tour with her self-described “besties” Upsahl. Apparently, Upsahl would later tell us how she was a fan of King Mala’s music when they first met… since then, the two became close friends. Areli is joined on stage with Alison on drums, Benny on bass, and Bill on guitars. It would seem that her big hit song was “cult leader”, as that song had the biggest response from the crowd.”
DEZI to open. We previously saw Dezi in June 2024 and noted, “Los Angeles’ Dezi opened the show. She’s joined by drummer Rami, who already broke a drum stick, indicating that it’s going to be a wild time. Sadly, it was Dezi’s last night on the Xana tour, so it was a little bitter sweet for the ending show… however, she’s staying in Minneapolis for another day to play Pride Stoplight Party at the Fillmore on Saturday night. Songs on Dezi’s set included “Boba”, a song that was written after a harassment on the subway for her Boba Tea. Highlight of the set was a duet with singer/songwriter Libby Larkin, Dezi’s partner, for “If You Still Need Me”.

Willie Wisely hits The High Hat with the Tommy Barbarella Organ Combo, featuring Tommy (Prince, Greazy Meal) on B3, Jeff Bailey (Craig Taborn, James Carter) electric bass, Geoff LeCrone (Dr. Mambo’s Combo) on guitar and Dave Anania (Blue Man Group, Greazy Meal) on drums. It’s a 60’s soul jazz vibe, applied to an evening of Wisely originals and hand-picked covers and obscurities of the era. Come see the fireworks up close.

90s band The Lemonheads are back with a brand-new album in almost two decades, Love Chant (Fire Records). To promote the new album, they’re heading out on tour, stopping by the Fine Line, in Minneapolis, on December 6, 2025.
I’ll never forget the first time I saw Evan Dando and Juliana Hatfield in Toronto in 2011: “We all knew everyone was there to see Evan and Juliana. I was also happy with their setlist, I was worried that they would be doing new songs, but they did a bunch of old Lemonheads song (including “Into Your Arms”, “Bit Part” and “Drug Buddy”) and two Juliana numbers (“Choose Drugs” and “Dear Anonymous”). None of the three big hits were played, but I suspect that has more to do with the two of them playing acoustics vs a full band.”
Erin Rae to open.
