Michelangelo by Rita Wilson (Jan 27, 2026)
Rita Wilson
Ahead of her tour and release of Sound of a Woman (due out May 1st), Rita Wilson shared the album’s single “Michelangelo.”
Talking about the song:
Michelangelo was asked how he made such exquisite statues out of blocks of stone; his answer was, ‘I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.’ So much of becoming ourselves involves the lifelong work of chipping away at what’s nonessential and getting closer to the truth of who we are as women. That process is not without pain and loss, but in the end there’s so much beauty to be gained from the constant practice of looking inward with real curiosity and courage.

Train On The Island by Aldous Harding (May 8, 2026)
Aldous Harding
New Zealand’s Aldous Harding announced her fifth studio album Train On The Island, to be released on May 8, 2026, on Flying Nun Records and 4AD Records.
They sent some details about the record, such as it was co-produced by long-time collaborator John Parish (PJ Harvey, Dry Cleaning) at Rockfield Studios in Monmouth, Wales. The recording of the album featured pedal steel player Joe Harvey-Whyte, harpist Mali Llywelyn, synth artist Thomas Poli, drummer Sebastian Rochford (Polar Bear) and Huw Evans (H. Hawkline) on bass, vocals, acoustic/electric guitar and organ.
We first saw Aldous Harding live in October 2016 and noted what a heavy, heavy New Zealand accent she had: “New Zealand’s Aldous Harding was up next, playing sensitive acoustic songs from her self-titled album (Flying Nun Records). She’s joined by a keyboard player after Harding solo song ‘Swell Does the Skull’. As the first notes were played, I immediate wrote in my notes, “Kate Bush”… and this was later confirmed when she covered Bush’s ‘Wuthering Heights’. Harding’s version is incredibly faithful, complete with dance moves. Highlight of her show is a brand new song, which she said was called ‘White Weight of the Planets’ … which may be incorrect as she does have a heavy accent and I could have misheard her. (Update: Confirmed, I did misheard her). For example, when she said the title of her finale song ‘Horizon’, I have in my notes, “he rising”. Anyway, the ‘Planet’ song was never played before, and she’s actually kind of worried that her manager may find out that she’s playing it on this night. Harding said, “No one film this sh**, okay?””.

Lindsey Kraft + A Piano Present: We’ve Been Here Before (2026)
Lindsey Kraft

TV star Lindsey Kraft (Grace & Frankie, Obliterated) is currently in Australia, as a special guest of Ben Folds’s tour. While she’s downunder, she decided to put together her Adelaide Fringe debut with Lindsey Kraft + A Piano Present: We’ve Been Here Before.

I’m not surprised at all, since I saw Kraft in Nov 2025 and noted: “Opening the show was songwriter, singer, and actor, Lindsey Kraft. She previously appeared with Folds in last year’s Paper Airplane Request tour. Kraft said that all the songs on her brief 35-min set were being written for a Broadway Musical that she’s currently working on (with award-winning producer/songwriter Linda Perry). She said she was “shopping the songs.” I’ve never heard of that term, but I think I got the meaning. She was basically testing her songs on audience to get feedback and see what worked and what didn’t. Maybe finetune some notes or lyrics, or maybe re-work the song for its final recording.”
All of those songs that she was “shopping” is being used in her upcoming piano-driven play/musical.
