There was a surprising number of kids around the preteen age group in the audience. When The Linda Lindas came out to the stage with videos of girls reading books with cats on the cover, all of the dresses and shirts in the crowd with cats on them made absolute sense. Their sound is very punky, with a dash of riot grrrls, comfortably loud and catchy. The set started off with “No Obligation.”

Loosely based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe, you can see elements of “The Raven”, “The Tell-Tale Heart”, “The Masque of the Red Death”, and so many of Poe’s stories throughout the series.
It never fails, every year, around this time, we get a ton of new Christmas songs. It’s a tradition, after all.
