So, this is kind of random, but I found a few Sony’s Memory Stick in some of my old tech box (see Everything Old is New Again). Sony long abandoned the format, in favor of the more popular (and standard) SD cards… which were supported by most digital cameras, phones, and PDA, thanks to the physically smaller MicroSD cards.
I didn’t immediately have a Memory Stick reader, but after some searching, I did find a reader! Unfortunately, it had one of those really old Micro Mini-B connectors. Once again, I had to dive into bags and bags of wires to search for the right cable.
Long story short, I found the cable and finally got to view the contents of the Memory Sticks. Most of the photos were already archived, so there really weren’t any new photos. Lots of photos of old co-workers, selfies, and my old Russian Blue cat (RIP). However, in one of the sticks, there were a few photos from 2004. All the resolution were at maximum of 640 pixels (remember this was in over 20 years ago!)
There was one blurry-ish photo of a concert, with the meta data reading August 14, 2004. It was outdoors, and it was free… and from my very poor memory, I do recall going to the Pizza Luce Block Party. I’m not sure if I stayed for the full show, and I can’t tell from the photo who is on stage… but it was timed at around 6pm (daylight was still out). It’s probably not a photo of Motion City Soundtrack, which headlined the event. I don’t know who opened for them.
At this time, the local band was just on the rise, thanks to being on Epitaph Records, for their 2003 debut album I Am The Movie. However, the band was already seasoned as a live band having spent much of 2008 touring on the Honda Civic Tour (and later Warped Tour) in support of their debut EP Even if it Kills Me.
They played the free block party. The setlist was provided by setlist.fm.
