Great Scott!: Honeyblood, Simple Minds, Vaselines, and Texas
Belle and Sebastian are a Scottish indie pop band formed in Glasgow in 1994. Led by Stuart Murdoch, Belle and Sebastian have released twelve studio albums. The band are often compared with acts such as the Smiths and Nick Drake. Belle and Sebastian took their name from a short story Murdoch had written about a boy and girl, whose title was a play on the 1965 television series Belle and Sebastian.

I thought I'd drop this off: I've previously heard the single "Come Monday Night" by God Help the Girl, but never really got around to picking up the actual album - that is until a few months ago - when I was in Canada. I saw they were selling the album for $1.99. No sale, no clearance, that was the regular price. I couldn't believe it, I picked up all the copies they had in the store.
Happy holidays! It's also Sally's birthdate week, as she was kind enough to stop in to preview Splendour in the Grass, which takes place this July 29th to 31st. Doors at 9am, music starts at 11 and ends after midnight.
SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS - the annual, ephemeral city of sounds that exists solely for sweet music and good times will transform Woodfordia, near Woodford, south east Queensland from Friday 29 to Sunday 31 July.

BELLE & SEBASTIAN: THE BBC SESSIONS Fans waiting for brand spanking new tracks will have to wait a few years. Jeepster (UK) and Matador (US) will be releasing this compilation on November 17th. Of course, as already a long-time fan, I will tell you that I already have a (crappy) recording of the over-the-air broadcast. I'm obviously still going to get a copy (particularly the limited double-CD version), just in time for Christmas, I suppose.
