Deltron 3030

Record Player R612

The world’s best record players are all made by Audio-Technica. It is the brand that everybody, who is into vinyl, recommends. I would love to own an Audio-Technica product, but all their starter turntables are priced at $200 to $350. Those are the starters, which are the “cheap” entries. If you want to “Step-Up”, those starts at $400… and when you go all-in, you’re looking at $2,000 for a turntable. That is crazy money to throw at a record player, in my opinion.

Deltron 3030 at Uptown Theater (September 24, 2025)

Supergroup Deltron 3030 (Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, Dan the Automator and Kid Koala) just rocked the Uptown Theater, in Minneapolis, last Wednesday. They did all the hits (“3030”, “Positive Contact”, “Memory Loss”), and, like the last time, they played “Clint Eastwood”, the song that made Gorillaz famous.

Flashback: Deltron 3030 at First Avenue (Nov 13, 2000)

You guys don’t know how excited I was when I heard that Deltron 3030 have reunited and will be doing a special 25th Anniversary tour. The band first came together in 2000, for their self-titled album, and it was the most unbeatable hip-hop, rap album you’ve ever heard. I was a big fan and saw the band in 2000, at First Avenue. I even bought their instrumental album. The instrumental record was marketed to DJs, who may want to use the background music to mix with other records.

Deltron 3030 at First Avenue, Minneapolis (10/20/13)

It's the year 3030… we came back. And yes, we came back to Deltron 3030, thirteen years later! Deltron 3030, the supergroup of Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, Dan the Automator, and Kid Koala, is currently on tour from the year 3030, stopping by Minneapolis to their sold-out show at First Avenue last night.

Rocktober Round Four (part one)

So, it's come to this. We have so many shows for the fourth week of Roctober that I have to split up the week until Wednesday! Unfortunately too many (good) bands are playing at the same time! So the theme for this article is "Double Shows" (either John or Vu will be at one of these shows). Deltron 3030, Quasi, King Khan, The 1975, Lucy Rose, Foy Vance, Melt-Banana , Kodaline

W♥M190: Rocktober 2013

Emily is our guest on this week's W♥M Radio. Last October 2012, we covered about 40 shows. We are gearing up toward another massive "Rocktober" month for 2013! Before we get to Rocktober, we discussed Duke Garwood and Savages at First Avenue (09/17). We mentioned that weird droney Garwood performance with skinnyman Johnny Hostile and the chop/punch/kick aggressive performance from Jehnny of Savages.

A Nerdcore Sampler

It seems to be my place here to be the old fogey who's always talking about music gone by, so let me take you back in time to an age where everyone was still pretty excited about the internet, the Stile Project was still pretty cutting edge, and Old Man Murray was the place to turn for video game reviews. Besides, Vu challenged me to do an entry on white boy rap and this is what he's going to get. Deltron 3030 has been mentioned here before and Del Tha Funkee Homosapien has enough other projects under his belt that he's not technically nerdcore, but the album was released around the same time and features futuristic rap battle in the year 3030, so it's hard to leave out the nod entirely.
