Jacksonville is the most populous city proper in the U.S. state of Florida, located on the Atlantic coast of northeastern Florida. It is the county seat of Duval County, with which the city consolidated in 1968. It is the tenth-most populous U.S. city and the largest city in the Southeast, with a population of 949,611 at the official 2020 U.S. census

Brotherhood of Rock, feat. Styx and Kevin Cronin Band, at Daily’s Place, Jacksonville (June 2, 2025)

What a wonderful night of classic rock, as The Brotherhood of Rock Tour stopped by Daily’s Place, in Jacksonville, Florida. This tour features two co-headlining brotherhood rock bands: Styx and REO Speedwagon… but for legal reasons, it is billed as Kevin Cronin Band. We will get to that story a little later.

Kool and the Gang at Jacksonville Jazz Festival (May 23, 2025)

One of the biggest free Jazz festivals in the country, the Jacksonville Jazz Festival, in Jacksonville, Florida, is currently underway this Memorial Day Weekend. Officially, the event kicked off on Thursday (May 22), with a Jacksonville Jazz Piano Competition at The Florida Theatre. The winners got a cash reward, as well as the opportunity to play on Saturday (today) to an audience, estimated to reach about twenty-five thousand attendees (keep in mind that the majority of people will show up much later in the day).

Misfit Corner Comics at Beach Boulevard Flea Market

By now you all know my sad tale of losing about half my comic book collection when I moved to Jacksonville. I have sworn to never buy anything again… but you all knew that wasn’t going to last. I just have to be smart about what goes into my collection and what I can live without. One thing that I know I can’t get back into is collecting toys. Toys takes up so much space, valuable space that I don’t have.

Palaye Royale at Decca Live (22 Feb 2025)

The Jacksonville all-ages Palaye Royale show was supposed to be the grand opening for the new venue FIVE, which I would’ve loved to be there for their grand opening… but unfortunately, the venue just wasn’t ready to open (originally the venue was supposed to open in January). All FIVE shows in February was moved to another new venue called Decca Live, which just opened January 31, 2025.
