ELEPHANT STONE

elephantstonemusic.com

Elephant Stone is a psychedelic band from Montréal, lead by sitarist/bassist Rishi Dhir (formerly associated with The High Dials). In addition to the High Dials, he’s also toured and recorded with Black Angels, Brian Jonestown Massacre, the Horrors, the Soundtrack of Our Lives, etc.

Elephant Stone is self-titled, but it is their second album. The title is coming out on vinyl tomorrow, February 12, 2013, via Reverberation Appreciation Society. I believe if you wanted just the digital copies, that was released last week (Feb 5th). Fans who purchased the album is already calling it “dreamy, shoegazey sound, with the indigenous instruments there to serve mostly as tripped-out background atmospherics.”

Elephant Stone will be doing some dates in the USA:

03/13/13 Dallas, TX The Kessler Theater

03/17/13 Houston, TX Fitzgerald’s

04/08/13 New York, NY Webster Hall

04/19/13 Chicago, IL Vic Theatre

Trivia: Whenever I hear ‘elephant stone’, I just think of the Stone Roses: “Send me home like an elephant stone to smash my dream of love.
