After a brief intermission, the stage screen rose to the sounds of Aretha Franklin’s ‘Who’s Zoomin’ Who” and each member of the Montreal indie-pop band Stars danced their way into position…

Burger Records is an independent label that started in 2007 in Fullerton, California and is known for releasing cassette tapes of grunge/pop/garage bands. Crystal Stilts

I got a note that Crystal Stilts were extending their tour with Swedish indie darlings Love is All, so I thought I’d mention it here before I forget. Crystal Stilts is on Slumberland Records…
CRYSTAL STILTS

crystalstilts.com

Crystal Stilts recently shared the video for “Star Crawl”, taken from the band’s forthcoming album, Nature Noir. The video directed by Daniel Fetherston tries to capture the earth and elements from the album’s theme, stating “We took off one morning to go capture random sweeping scenes. Rivers and valleys, trees and ponds… in a word, nature. I guess the album has that feel as opposed to the earliest Crystal Stilts material, which could refer to the cities, the subways, thoughts and frustrations that are kept inside oneself. This song is perhaps about doing grandiose things, but knowing it’s not in you. The long sweeping shots of the Hudson Valley, and elsewhere at least somewhat resemble the scale of those claims.”

‘Naturally’, with the new Nature Noir record, the band is currently on tour:

Black Crowes

The Black Crowes first came into fame with their rocking version of Otis Redding’s “Hard to Handle”. I don’t think they have ever achieved such success, at least from what I remember. …
NORTH MISSISSIPPI ALLSTARS

nmallstars.com

North Mississippi Allstars are playing Cabooze this Friday, September 27th, in support of their new seventh studio record, World Boogie Is Coming (out now).

When asked about the album’s name, Cody Dickinson said, “‘World boogie is coming’ was my father’s favorite valediction. Naming this record after his closing phrase seemed like a great way to honor him and his memory. World boogie is coming is also a rallying cry. And the cry is this: It’s time to boogie!”

NPR described these brothers (Luther and Cody Dickinson) as “Americana music luminaries”, so if you’re into dancing (and apparently boogying), then you should make it out to one of their shows.
