CRX is the exciting new band fronted by The Strokes’ guitarist Nick Valensi. Other members of the band includes keyboard player Richie James Follin, drummer Ralph Alexander, bassist Jon Safley, and guitarist Darian Zahedi. The band will be stopping by the Triple Rock Social Club in Minneapolis next Thursday, November 10th, touring in support of their debut album New Skin (Columbia Records).

We’re also excited to see that Streets Of Laredo will be touring with the band. We previously caught the Brooklyn band in June 2014 and wrote, “The rather large band features seven members, including two brothers, Daniel and David Gibson, and David’s wife Sarahjane on the tom-tom and has an earthy folk sound similar in tone to Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes and The Head and The Heart.”

Sloan’s One Chord To Another 20th Anniversary USA show will be kicking off at Madison’s The Frequency this November 9th. Right after, they will be stopping by the Turf Club in St Paul to play their best-selling album in its entirety.

Look, if there was one Sloan album you own, it’s probably this one.

We’ve seen anniversary tours before, sometime it can get really tricky as due to track listing, they may have to have pre-tuned guitars or a guitar tech on hand to play everything correctly. We’ve seen it done wrong too, so, as we said, these album anniversaries can be hard to pull off…

The band probably won’t have any issues, as we’ve seen them play their entire Commonwealth double album to perfection at the Turf Club in October 2014.

No opening band listed… but seeing as it is Sloan, they’ll likely play a double set like last time.
