Can you believe it’s been 25 years since The Dandy Warhols first arrived? The band loves “Minnesoter” and it’s always good to have the band back in town.
The last time we saw them, in Sep 2016, we said, “As for The Dandy Warhols, they are always fun. As previously explained, they have a relationship with Minneapolis and had always made sure they come to the city whenever they work out their tour itinerary. Minneapolis was their very first national tour date (with Electrafixion) at the Fine Line Music Café on 16 November 1995…. and of course it went very wrong: their tour van broke down. They had to get their vehicle in working order, but in the meantime they played some house shows in the area. The whole lovely experience inspired singer / songwriter Courtney Taylor (he didn’t have that extra Taylor part back then) to write ‘Minnesoter’ – a song that the Dandies will always play in Minnesota! That is no except with last week’s show, which you can see, handwritten on the set “‘Soter”. If you ever wanted to see a Dandy show, make sure to see it at Minneapolis, as it’s always fun and unique.”

Parachute is headlining the Varsity Theater in Dinkytown. We last saw them in Oct 2016 and said, “Virginia band Parachute was next, with a taut but peppy twenty-five minute set culled from the new album, Wide Awake (Vanguard Records) released this March, and a few radio hits; most of which, the crowd seemed to have recognized.”

Sister band Teen is back in Minneapolis this Tuesday, May 14th. We last saw the girls in New York in Sept 2014 and said, “Brooklyn-based band, TEEN. With their electronic, alternative rock music, the harmonies from all four members blended in smoothly and strongly. Their semi-repetitious sequences in each song give off a slight trance-like vibe. Though it seemed like most of the audience came to see Lerche, TEEN definitely was able to hold the majority of the crowd’s attention.”
