The Thing is a four piece from New York City, not to be confused with the John Carpenter’s film. The group is inspired by ’60s rock n roll bands like the Kinks, Grand Funk Railroad, as well as progressive shoegazing acid rock of Brian Jonestown Massacre, King Gizzard, and The Black Keys.
The Thing’s sophomore album The Thing Is out in the world is out now.
Diet Lite and The Dalmatian Club to open.
We recently caught Dalmatian Club in March 2024 and wrote, “Opening the sold-out all-ages show was The Dalmatian Club from “Dinkytown”. If you’re not from around the city, this is a college-area. It’s where the Varsity Theater is located, around that area. The group is relatively new, having formed in 2022, and they played some breezy, upbeat, bright Summer songs.”
