Since I’m currently in Jacksonville until March, I had to make some adjustments to the lack of a music scene here. I did look over concert listings, and based on what I can see, there is one good music venue called the Florida Theatre. This is a 1,900-seat historic theatre located in downtown Jacksonville. It is roughly the size (and style) of the State Theatre in Minneapolis.

The most exciting thing is that there is a new music venue in Jacksonville called FIVE, their website said they are open for business in January 2025… but looking at their calendar, it looks like the first show is on February 22. I will be back home in Minneapolis in March, so I’ll see if I can sneak in a show before returning home.

So February 22 is the first date, and the band is Los Angeles trio Palaye Royale. They are on a massive North American tour, with special guest Johnnie Guilbert.

Earlier this year, Palaye Royale released their 4th studio album Death or Glory, which Kerrang! Magazine named as one of the albums of the year: “an opulent yet defiant piece of work, lavishly laden with groove, lust and razor-sharp lines about the path to surviving as a creative in the minefield of modern times.”

Palaye Royale features brothers Remington Leith (vocals), Sebastian Danzig (guitar), and Emerson Barrett (drums).

Here are FIVE shows coming to FIVE:
