The annual Gamescon officially kicks off today, August 19, in Cologne, Germany. As per tradition, you can stream Opening Night Live right now on YouTube and other streaming platforms. With over a million concurrent viewers, the stream was pretty good, but I did suffer pixelations when I tried to stream it in HD. My internet connection as just not good.

Anyway, as you recall, I did stream Gamescon Opening Night Live 2024 last year noted that they just have a ton of games announced. This year, it’s no different… I’m especially interested in playing He-Man and the Masters of the Universe™: Dragon Pearl of Destruction, a beat-‘em up game.

Hosts Geoff Keighley and Sjokz (Eefje Depoortere) did a great job in keeping the show on track.

Lorien Testard and Alice Duport-Percier

There was “Alicia”, performance by composer Lorien Testard and vocalist Alice Duport-Percier, from the hit game Clair Obscur Expedition 33.

Of course, as the Fallout fan, I was most excited to seeing Keighley briefly speaking to the Fallout team, including Lucy and Maximus. They then let us watch the world premiere of Fallout: Season 2 trailer.

The trailer confirms a few things for fans, which is obviously the show will take place in New Vegas, as well as the introduction to the deadly Deathclaws! Based on what a great first season, the showrunners certainly know what they’re doing and I hope Season 2 will be just as good, if not better! Can’t wait to see it on December 17.

I’m assuming they will allow us to stream the rest of Gamescon for the next four days… if there’s anything newsworthy to report (like the much-anticipated pricing of the ROG Xbox Ally X), I will report back. Otherwise, enjoy the rest of Gamescon.

Come back on December 11, when we see Geoff Keighley at it again at The Game Awards.
