Patrick Wolf at recordBar, Kansas City MO (2025-10-23 Photos)
We briefly stopped by the recordBar in downtown Kansas City to get a few pics of Patrick Wolf, making his first area appearance in over a decade, back from seclusion, in support of his seventh album, Crying the Neck.
Look for a full review of his St, Paul, MN appearance at the Amsterdam Bar and Hall, happening this coming week.

Patrick Wolf released his first E.P at the age of 19, a groundbreaking debut of classical, folk and electronic music that set the pace for a stellar decade, releasing six albums and multiple laps around the globe on tour amassing a still dedicated audience.
A viola, piano, dulcimer, harp and tenor guitar player, his decade of critically acclaimed work and touring while collaborating with Patti Smith, Marianne Faithfull, Angelo Badalamenti and Tilda Swinton led to a sudden retreat from the industry where a decade of personal trial at last made re-connection with his work and vocation.
He returned in 2025 with the seventh album “Crying the Neck” an end of summer folkloric odyssey set in the landscape at the end of the east of England where cliffs and field meet the North Sea, where Wolf now lives and works.
The North American and Canadian wing of the “Stations of The Sun Tour” sees Wolf returning to his very early “Lycanthropy” days of touring the states in the back of his Tennessee managers car, yet this time driving himself coast to coast with a car full of instruments on what is set to be a solo road trip of an adventure, re-connecting to an audience not seen for a decade and meet those who’ve discovered his work in the meantime.
The setlist spans both his best-known work and the new album, acknowledging the 20th anniversary of his much-loved second album Wind in the Wires and exploring its relationship to “Crying the Neck”.
