Legendary hardcore punk Black Flag just played The Albatross (formerly the Underbelly) in Jacksonville. Most fans may know Black Flag for having Henry Rollins as their frontman. A lot have changed since the punk band reformed for the fourth time, and now features new members (since April 2025): Max Zanelly on vocals, David Rodriguez on bass, Bryce Weston on drums, and original band member Greg Ginn on guitars (see photo with Joe below).
If you look over their setlist, you might freak out by the double set and 25 songs! But you have to remember that this is a punk band and all their songs clocks under 2 minutes, at best, so they can cram in as many songs as they can possibly play.
Joe Queer, from the opening band The Queers, joined Black Flag on their closing songs “Louie Louie” and “F*** Up” (Good for You cover). You may notice the drummer is the same for both bands. Joe Queer mentioned that last week his drummer (Alex Martin) got drunk, got a tattoo of Black Flag and the Queers, then quit the band the next day, with only a few days left in the tour. Wonder what happened.
