Yes, Christmas time is almost here. With that, we have the annual Epic Games Christmas giveaway. The giveaway will start this year on December 18 and will end on January 1st, 2026. For two weeks, we will be getting a free daily game to keep forever. That’s 14 free games, and all you have to do is remember to claim the free game every day.

It looks like Epic, collaborating with the Game Awards, starting on December 11, 2025, will be co-giving away a game the week leading up to the Epic Christmas Game Giveaway.

What is the big free game this year (usually around Christmas Eve or Christmas Day)? I have no idea, but last year (2024) we got Control, the year before (2023) that Outer Worlds (although I was probably more excited about Fallout 3), the year before that (2022) we got Death Stranding, and before that (2021) we got Tomb Raider Trilogy.

My point is that these are all good games… games that I’ve previously paid money for. You’re getting it for FREE!

There are some downsides, of course. You must register for a free Epic Games account. You must be logged in. If you want to play the free game, you must use their Epic Games launcher software. It’s free, just put up with it!

Anyway, I’ll be logging in and updating this free game list – and when there is a major free game, I will be sure to spotlight it in a new post… otherwise, keep this page bookmarked for the game list.

Update: The free December 11 game is Hogwarts Legacy (Harry Potter), a $60 game that is absolutely free. I previously mentioned the game in Feb 2023 Of course, I had trouble trying to claim the game, because the servers were unresponsive due to the massive interests. I will try back in a few hours to see if I can claim it.
