Day at Jacksonville Beach (February 20, 2026)

I have family visiting, so I’ve been doing touristy things. Spent the day at Jacksonville Beach, a city east of where I live. It’s a beach town, so you can see plenty of surfers and beach goers taking advantage of the 80°F degree weather at early in the morning.
The birds were out in force and was not shy about asking for food. They are used to humans and some will get very close without fear. We took a long walk on the pier to see a lot of fishermen spending the morning with various fishing rods. The pier, which extends into the ocean, normally costs $2.50 ($5 for fishing), but for locals, there is a discount. Parking is free around this area.
From there, we walked for a few blocks to the Seawalk Pavilion, where you can see they were setting up the music venues and barriers for tomorrow (Feb 21) free annual music festival Seawalk Music Festival. This year’s lineup includes The Yeah Babys, Parker Barrow and a tribute Allman Brothers Band called “Statesboro”. For Sunday night, the headliners are Billy Buchanan and Victor Wainwright.
The only band I recognized was Hello Sister, who we saw in November 2025, writing: “Orlando’s Hello Sister, featuring real sisters Grace (bass), Gabriella (guitars) and Scarlett (drums), was really fun. You can tell the sister act love being on stage and all the rock ‘n roll things that comes with it. According to their biography, they started when they were 14, 15, and 16, so I think the youngest is now 17, which is one of their song titles. They did a few covers, including a great Queen’s “Don’t Stop me Now” and Chappell Roan’s “Good Luck, Babe!”, and their original songs sounded punk/pop.”
We’re still contemplating on going to the music festival (it really depends on my siblings if they want to go or not). Here is the schedule for Seawalk Music Festival

After Jacksonville Beach, we visited St Augustine, over at St George Street and also stopped by Buc-ee. This gas station chain is famous for holding the title of largest gas station. Inside the store, there is a crew making fresh food and jerky… it was definitely hopping. Never seen anything quite like this before.
