March 1-7, 2026, Upcoming concerts / shows (Kansas City, MO /Lawrence, KS metro)

March comes in… like a lamb,

The week (and month) does start a little thin but ramps up as the weekend approaches. Even though the KC area is missing a lot of bigger tours (Springsteen, Rush, Ariana, BTS – KC is still somewhat perceived as flyover and only considered for later legs by some national bookers), the general volume of shows is already noticeably increasing.

The new Morton Amphitheater in Riverside will add some 30+ shows for their premier season, (so far) starting on June 10 with Aussie indie dance band, Rüfüs Du Sol with shows still announcing (and build in anywhere from another $20 to $90+ for parking).

Azura Amph is still alive and kicking, beginning in late April with a ZZ Top/Dwight Yoakam co-headlining show and again hosts the big three-day Country Stampede weekend. If that venue can somehow upgrade and still attract worthy shows over the next couple years, it should gain more exposure and traffic, being so close to the new Kansas City Chiefs stadium location, but all remains to be seen.

We’re also late in noting some radio centralization in the area as the six Cumulus-owned stations in Topeka pulled up stakes and assimilated into their KC office, though do remain committed to localized coverage. This move was in the wind when their longtime Ops Manager departed at year’s-end and is a snapshot of what’s going on in radio, in general.

Let’s take look at the Kansas City / Lawrence KS metro musical happenings for the week from March 1st to 7th.

Nashville’s All Them Witches are now six records in since their beginnings in 2012 (Ben McLeod- guitarist; Charles Michael Parks, Jr.– bass; Christian Powers- drums; and Allan Van Cleave- keys) and still bring a furious energy and rhythmic nuance to their melting pot sonic blend of heavy, melodic rock, with dark, heavy riffs and expansive, jamming, neo-psychedelic sounds.

The band hasn’t put a studio full-length since 2020’s Nothing as the Ideal but has had a live release and handful of singles since, including their version of the traditional bluegrass number, “Red Rocking Chair” which, as you can imagine, is pretty different than the original. The classic Gershwin tale is presented for the first time in Lyric Opera history- Porgy and Bess is the quintessential American opera. The source of some of the twentieth century’s most beloved songs—including “Summertime”—this jazzy Gershwin score is unforgettable. The opera paints a picture of life in the Charleston neighborhood Catfish Row, where a poignant “opposites attract” romance unfolds alongside a portrait of a community that unites in the face of tragedy and triumph.
