When I first started really listening to music, I was in Junior High School. It was a special time, I was into Bad Religion, Harry Chapin, They Might Be Giants, The Smiths… and Information Society. Like your first love, you never forget and you still hold a candle for these special bands.
Taking a long break from music, it was good to see cult favorite John Maus, resuming his tour after brother Joe Maus died last year. After a Maus took a break and resumed his tour (but without a backing band)… ending his 2019 North American tour at First Avenue’s mainroom on February 28th.

Joe Maus, the bassist and brother to John Maus, has died while on tour. He was rather young, only 30 years old.
It was a sold-out show for John Maus’ first show in Minneapolis in seven years, at the Cedar Cultural Center on Thursday night. Sadly, that also meant that there were a few fans without tickets, waiting outside in the cold asking for spare tickets.
