This story is old, but it goes on. After a last-minute rescheduling of today’s Morrissey show at Centennial Hall, in Tucson (May 5, 2025), I’m beginning to believe in the rumor that the entire tour has been cancelled (or rather postponed). The rumor came from someone who works at the Centennial Hall venue told ticket holders that “the tour is off.” It’s starting to ring true, as this is the third show in a row that has been rescheduled.

His PR department tried to do some damage control by issuing an official statement that Morrissey contracted “a severe sinusitis attack” after his performance in Bakersfield, and was hospitalized in San Diego. They also stressed that the tour would resume today, but obviously, it did not. If it is Morrissey’s health is in question, why not just come out with a statement that the tour is on hold until Morrissey can recover… rather than just wait until the last minute. We’ve seen this before with “band illness,” where we were waiting every day to hear that a show was cancelled.

Reading reports from fans in Tucson, they mentioned that the band arrived at the venue… but then loaded their equipment back onto the tour truck. This indicates that the touring crew was ready to go on as scheduled, or had intention to play tonight.

Morrissey’s next scheduled appearance is May 8th, and, hopefully, he’ll recover by then.

UPDATE: Rumor is true, it looks like the whole USA tour will be postponed.
