Florida band Anberlin is currently celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Never Take Friendship Personal. The album came out in 2005 on Tooth & Nail Records, and spawn such hit singles as “A Day Late” and “Paperthin Hymn”.

We saw Anberlin earlier in March 2025, but I’ll always remember the first time I saw them in October 2012 when they opened for Smashing Pumpkins. We also got to speak to singer Stephen Christian (in 2008) and got the secret origin of the band’s name “anberlin”. He said he was a misheard Radiohead lyrics from the song “Everything in its Right Place” (he thought Thom Yorke was singing “…and Berlin”).
