Sassy 009
Going to SXSW 2026? Check the Play It Again Sam showcase, in partnership with British Music Embassy, at Palm Door on Sixth on Thursday, March 12th, 2026 – featuring Sassy 009, Gwenno, The Haunted Youth and Saint Agnes.
If you’re a Pipettes fan, be sure to see Gwenno. She has a new album called Utopia… and while you’re at it, her sister Ani Glass also has a really good album called Phantasmagoria.
I’m most excited to see Sassy 009 (aka Sunniva Lindgård) on the bill. She’s originally from Norway and came to the attention of the Guardian in 2018. Currently, her album Dreamer+ is out now on [PIAS].

YATTA
Sierra Leonean-American artist and composer YATTA will be performing at Stone Circle Theatre in New York, this Friday, March 6, 2026, in celebration of the release of OHYUNG’s album IOWA. Presented in collaboration with Trans Music Archive, the evening centres trans creativity, spiritual inquiry, and collective care, with all proceeds benefiting the Iowa Trans Mutual Aid Fund.
Commenting on the upcoming event, Yatta said, “I’ve admire OHYUNG so much as an artist and person. She’s the full extent of what a talented musician can be. I wanted to do something special for this one, so I’ll be joined by two special guests to be announced. A swirl of Kora and violin expanding the depth of my ambient set.”
