Comics: Midlife Crisis

As a sign of how old I am, my first comic book that I purchased with my own money was Crisis on Infinite Earths for $1, 30 years ago. I bought it from Yunkee, because I was drawn to the many characters in the books. I believe the Crisis #3 was on newsstand at that time period, so I was actually missing issue #2 for a while (but obviously I've tracked down the missing issue at a comic book store - Sierra Comics and Books in Clovis, California). I have very fond memories of the series, read #5 in the bathtub (to this day, the comic has water damage), blown away by the death of Supergirl, followed by the death of Flash (Barry Allen). Wow, this was amazing comic-changing stuff! There was no internet, there was no Previews; the only way to find out what was happening was to visit a newsstand (because the comic book store was usually too far for me).

Constantine: Quid Pro Quo

The new episode of Constantine is probably the best show so far! The best ones are the ones that is based on the comic book, and this new episode, the whole setup is quite similar to Mike Carey's Hellblazer: All His Engines.
What we've been seeing with Constantine is the whole children in danger, harkening back to Newcastle... which, of course, was brought up again in this latest episode.

Game of Thrones Season 4 Exclusives

If you listened to my podcast with Cristina, you know that I'm a huge Game of Thrones fan.  I actually own all the books (but have not read all of them) and always get the Bluray exclusive covers, if I can get them.  Best Buy will be releasing five different covers for Season 4 - unfortunately, three of them were previously used for for Season 1 and 2, only the Martell and Tyrell are new covers. I don't know why they are recycling the images - they could have at least changed the colors or reverse the image or something?
