Elephant Revival at the Cedar, Minneapolis (25 Sep 2014)

There's no denying it, bluegrass/Americana music is huge in Minnesota, as demonstrated by the recent Trample by Turtles' Festival Palomino that took place over last weekend. Elephant Revival and the Lowest Pair are currently heading down to "Boats & Bluegrass Festival" and "Maximum Ames Music Festival" in late September, but before stopped all that, they were in town at the Elephant Revival show at Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis last night, September 25th.

Minneapolis Music Guide: September 21 – September 27, 2014

Here is the weekly guide of some Minneapolis live concerts and events from September 14...

Drumming up some excitement…

Spirited Brooklyn rock band The Drums recently released "I Can't Pretend", the dreamy second single off their brand new LP Encyclopedia, slated to be released September 23rd on Minor Records. The single is the perfect farewell to summer with its shivery synth texture, chiming guitar and sighing chorus; it's the sonic equivalent of watching the sun setting in the distance as you walk along the beach with your May-September romance.

W♥M219: Something Fall-ish

Is the Summer really over? Wow, that was fast! One of the highlight of the Summer was Paul McCartney at Target Center, who played nearly three hours of music. But was the past... Vu and John look forward to "Something Fall-ish", music shows in the Twin Cities in the next two months.

Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition

Sure, I said I have stopped buying Blizzard games because of their online requirements. For a long time, I refused to buy Diablo III because you have to have an online connection to play the game. The Blizzard people were saying that the online requirement was for gaming and their marketplace, but let's just call it for what it is: it's DRM and their fight against piracy.

Flashback: Stereo Total at Triple Rock, Minneapolis (21 May 2005)

It's been a while since I did a Flashback article - this one was recently on my mind because I bought a Stereo Total CD at a used record store. I missed their appearance at the 7th Street Entry in 2009 on account that I was traveling from Austin to Minneapolis, after SXSW. However, I was there for Stereo Total at the Triple Rock Social Club in Minneapolis on May 21st, 2005.
