As an arctic blast poured into the Twin Cities in the form of a polar vortex, a propulsive beat of electronic dance music provided a welcome counter to the plummeting temperature outside. The xx at First Avenue, Minneapolis (10/19/12)
The xx show was a little somber, with flashing lights at the appropriate beats. I was expecting more dancing from the audience, but for the most part, they kept very still. Which is cool, as someone pointed out that it was nice to see people actually listening and watching the show on stage.
The xx Word
The weather here in Minneapolis is getting colder. If this keeps up, I may have to go into winter hibernation mid-November or earlier. In the meantime, October (aka "Rocktober") has been pretty bad for concerts. I'm seeing a lot of shows this month; I guess I have to get as many in before the winter. I will be coming out of hibernation in April 2013: Hunter Valentine, the xx, Brandy, Simon Spire
