We interviewed Jonathan Posthuma, Artistic Planning Director of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, about the 2025-2026 season, particularly the planned Bach orchestral suites.
In the premiere of their 67th season, the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra (SPCO) gave the audience a grand performance featuring modern music, an emotional double concerto, and a jubilant symphony. Leading the orchestra was Austrian composer and conductor Thomas Zehetmair who rejoined as artistic partner, last seen with SPCO in the 2019-2020 season.

On a seasonably, sunny day in July, Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis was beaming with energy and excitement for the Grand Piano Spectacular. The pre-show music of the night was provided by Peter Kogan’s TarBone Quintet. The group played a grooving jazz set with each musician showcasing their improvisation abilities. If jazz wasn’t your vibe, many local vendors and artisans had kiosks with their wares and hand-crafted goods for sale inside the atrium.

In their 2024-25 season finale, the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra delighted the audience and received three standing ovations throughout the afternoon at the Ordway Concert Hall. Reunited with Gábor Takács-Nagy, it was clear to see the strong connection the orchestra has developed over the years with the Hungarian conductor.
