Bayonne at 7th St Entry (Sep 29, 2026)
Austin’s Bayonne (aka Roger Sellers) is back in Minneapolis, playing the 7th Street Entry, on September 29, 2026. His latest album Filters is out now on Nettwerk.
We saw Bayonne in June 2023 and wrote, “Again, the setup remains the same as before, with Sellers remaining in the darkness as you’re shown a visual image in the background. The whole point in playing his show this way is to let you experience his music with the visual imagery. I don’t think Sellers likes being in the spotlight and would have preferred to play and sing behind the curtains… As you can see from the setlist, he ended the show with “Come Down”, followed by the encore song, “Fallss.””

MICO at First Avenue (Sep 30, 2026)
23-year-old Filipino-Canadian alt-pop-rock artist MICO is touring in support of his debut album When the lights turn on (via Columbia Records)… and will be stopping by First Avenue, in Minneapolis, on September 30, 2026.
The ticket limit is strict. Any attempt to exceed the posted ticket limit per customer or household, or to game the system in any way, will result in cancellation of orders without notice. There is a transfer delay for all tickets prior to the show.

New York’s They Might Be Giants is returning to Minneapolis (and St Paul), for a four-night event of “Evening With” performances. They are all very different shows, very different setlists, and, as usual, with a great eight-piece band. Let’s start Rocktober right. TMBG’s new album The World Is To Dig (see review here) is out now.
They Might Be Giants
Despite being delayed for a over a year, that was fun to see TMBG play Flood in Oct 2022: “The other thing is that they decided to play Flood, but in completely random order and out of sequence. Which is fine, as I recently played the album on shuffle mode and it had the same effect. Each song stands on its own, they’re all good. Even so-so song “Sapphire Bullets of Pure Love” had something new to offer. The band played this song backward, in real time. They would play back the video in reverse during the intermission and it sounded pretty good! Even though they jokingly said, all we would hear is “Satan Join Us”. I thought I knew the Flood album from start to finish, so it was also a nice surprise and refreshing to hear a brand-new set of lyrics for “Road Movie to Berlin”, featuring the line about “the king of liars”. It does throw you off to hear something new, and now that I’ve heard it, I wish that was the full song on the record.”

The Dream Syndicate at Turf Club (Oct 4, 2026)
Los Angeles’ alternative rock band The Dream Syndicate broke up in the 90s, but since 2012, bandleader Steve Wynn got the band back together – along with his various other projects like Gutterball and The Baseball Project.
This upcoming final leg of their year-long tour is in support of their 2025 deluxe box set reissue of their second album Medicine Show. The tour will stop by the Turf Club, in St Paul, on October 4, 2026.
Minus Five
We saw The Baseball Project (and switching members around: the Minus Five) in September 2025 and wrote, “The Baseball Project are not to be taken too seriously. After playing the first two songs, Wynn said, “That’s two of our biggest hits!,” which drummer Linda Pitmon added, “We got so many hits… soooo many hits.” Wynn wasn’t exactly kidding when he said hit song after “Past Time”, which was the song they typically ended their set with previous tours. Now the song is moved up, in favor of “¡Hola America!” as the closer song. Even if you don’t care for the band, you have to admire the band for their commitment to writing songs about baseball. They really like the sport… I mean no one writes five albums about baseball, unless you really love it. Who else can write a sexy “Box Scores” song? Who else can write songs about curveballs like “Uncle Charlie”?”

Six-time GRAMMY-winning musician, producer, and composer, Don Was is on his 2026 tour, with the full band, billed as Don Was and the Pan-Detroit Ensemble. The show promises music from his new album Groove in the Face of Adversity as well as honoring The Grateful Dead’s Blues for Allah and Bob Weir and the album’s 50th Anniversary.
We interviewed Don Was in 2024 and we got the answer to his hat: ““It was 1996,” he replied. “I was producing a record for Richie Sambora, and we were working in my house in L.A., and he had a hat maker come to the house.” The hatmaker was from Baron and Sambora said Was should get one made. Being receptive, Was showed the hatmaker two album covers. One was a Merle Haggard album and the other, Bob Dylan’s Desire. “Do a combination of these two hats. And the guy made it and showed up two weeks later and I put it on, and it felt like I was born in it.””
