Julia Jacklin at First Avenue (Nov 13, 2026)
November 13, 2026 Friday
Julia Jacklin
at First Avenue
Australian Julia Jacklin is touring in support of The Gem (4AD). The tour will stop by First Avenue, in Minneapolis, on November 13, 2026.
The ticket limit is strict. Any attempt to exceed the posted ticket limit per customer or household, or to game the system in any way, will result in cancellation of orders without notice. There is a transfer delay for all tickets prior to the show.
We saw Julia Jacklin in September 2022 and wrote: “Julia Jacklin walked on stage by herself to Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On”… and the audience of mostly young women were singing along. Jacklin has a very good local fanbase, thanks to being nominated for an ARIA award eight times, and strong support from local radio station The Current. After one song solo, “Don’t Let the Kids Win” and her full band joined her on stage. With the full band, all the songs sounded much fuller, almost rock songs, especially “to Perth, before the border closes”. Despite the fact that Jacklin was recovering from losing her voice (she had to postpone Philadelphia and Boston’s shows), she still sounded great.”

Tim Montana at Mystic Lake Casino Showroom (November 14, 2026)
November 14, 2026 Saturday
Tim Montana
at Mystic Lake Casino Showroom
Tim Montana will be headlining the Mystic Lake Showroom, in Prior Lake, on November 14, 2026, in support of his new album Entire State Of Tim Montana. Tim Montana has built a reputation for delivering unapologetically loud, high-energy songs driven by blistering guitar riffs, raw vocals, and a rebellious, blue-collar attitude.
We saw Montana in February 2025 and said: “Straight out da trailer, Country, blues and rock singer/guitarist and Butte, MT native Tim Montana was up next, providing an energetic and raucous set that brought everyone to their feet. Montana’s newest is last July’s Savage (via Broken Bow Records) which is actually his sixth full-length, though is serving as his major debut release. It’s something he kidded about, saying he’d left home at 18 trying to make it, also pledging to give things up, if he didn’t break by age 40, only to have this current record put him on the map…at age 39 ½. Per his own taped stage intro, Montana’s musical influences run from A to Z… make that AC/DC to ZZ Top, with includes a stop in the middle for Kid Rock. Though a newer name to most, he’s been under ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons’ wing for some time, and has toured consistently, unafraid of playing smaller bars and clubs, so has a good handful of funny and touching road stories.”

In Loving Memory of Tara Grimmer A Celebration of Her Life at Sports Page Bar & Grill (November 15, 2026)
November 15, 2026 Sunday
In Loving Memory of Tara Grimmer
at Sports Page Bar & Grill
I recently found out that Tara Grimmer, of Fuzzy Machete, passed away recently. If you want to pay respect, her friends and family is holding a In Loving Memory of Tara Grimmer: A Celebration of Her Life at Sports Page Bar & Grill, in Bloomington, on November 15, 2026. There will be a reading at 7:30pm.
Message from surviving band members:
To our faithful Fuzzy Machete community. Thank you for all your support over the years. Tara will live on through her music, friendships and many artists she inspired in her time with us. Our hearts are broken but our sisterhood is eternal. We will miss you, Tara.

💜In Loving Memory of Tara Alexandria Grimmer

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that Tara Alexandria Grimmer passed away peacefully on Friday, October 9, 2026, surrounded by the love and cherished memories of those who held her dear.

Tara was beloved by all who had the good fortune to know her. Brilliant, witty, and an endless wellspring of knowledge, talent, and compassion, she touched and inspired the lives of countless artists, musicians, students, friends, and family members.

A lifelong Minnesotan with roots in the Iron Range, Tara graduated from John F. Kennedy Senior High School and Mankato State with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory. She went on to build a successful career in technology, working for prominent companies, including McKesson and Apple. As a SQL developer, she found joy in the daily challenges of her profession, approaching her work much as she approached life: with curiosity, creativity, and a love of solving puzzles.

Tara leaves behind an extraordinary legacy spanning music, theater, film, recording and production, philanthropy, luthiery, mentorship, and so much more.

An accomplished musician, music producer, live music promoter, stand-up comedian, and actress, Tara was a vibrant and influential presence in the Twin Cities arts community. She produced several albums, played electric guitar with the rock trio Fuzzy Machete, and performed on upright bass with the alt-folk group Christof Rochel and the Wine-Soaked Goliards.

She founded and fronted the acclaimed glam rock cover bands Parental Advisory and Victory Riot, and performed with local groups including The Slide Rules, A Pink Dream, SpeedWeed, The Drug Budget, Hey Guys, The Distance, Super Hecking Valid, and Lost Evidence.

Tara graced countless stages from Minnesota to Texas, performing at events including CONvergence, AniMinneapolis, Warped Tour SendOff, Twin Cities Pride, the NorthStar Roller Derby Championships, and the Renaissance Festival.

Beyond her accomplishments as a performer, Tara was a passionate advocate for her community and a tireless supporter of causes close to her heart. She organized and hosted countless benefit shows, raising funds for local musicians and organizations supporting causes such as Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW), the Angel Foundation, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), and the Transgender Law Center.

A devoted champion of the Twin Cities music scene, Tara created and curated the Better Than Life Showcase, a recurring live event held several times a year that brought together talented local singer-songwriters and performing artists, each personally selected by Tara.

Her talents and expertise were recognized well beyond the local stage. In 2018, she was invited to serve as a judge for the Karaoke World Championships in Minnesota and Las Vegas.

In 2020, Tara made her theatrical debut in the lead role of Rue in Uprising Theatre Company’s production of Doctor Rue Voynich and Her Children. Her film debut followed in 2021, when she portrayed the “After Party DJ” in Strange Trajectory Production’s Valentine Crush.

When Tara wasn’t commanding a stage, championing a cause, or bringing people together, she embraced life with the same boundless enthusiasm she brought to her creative pursuits.

She adored spending time with her beloved Shiba Inu, Tabi. She loved playing softball, cheering on the Minnesota Lynx and Timberwolves, skateboarding, gaming, reading comics, and immersing herself in all things science fiction and anime. She brewed excellent beer, attended everything from arena concerts to five-dollar local band shows, and treasured time spent with her vast circle of friends.

As we grieve her passing, we are reminded of the countless beautiful ways Tara brought people together, the unforgettable moments we shared, and the lasting impact she made on everyone fortunate enough to be part of her world.

Tara was our frontwoman, bandleader, cheerleader, DJ, officiant, game master, bassist, shredder, firstborn, sibling, daughter, niece, aunt, mother, best friend, and invincible sister.

She was so many things to so many people, and the world is a little less bright without her in it.

Tara is survived by her mother, father, brother, aunts, cousins, and her beloved niece and nephew, whom she adored and doted upon. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

A celebration of Tara’s life is being planned to honor her memory and bring together the many people whose lives she touched. Details will be shared here as soon as arrangements have been finalized.

In the meantime, we kindly ask that you allow her family and friends the time and space they need to mourn, reflect, and support one another during this difficult time. We are deeply grateful for your understanding, compassion, and respect for their privacy as we navigate this loss together.

We also invite you to continue sharing your photographs, stories, and cherished memories of Tara here, on CaringBridge, and across social media. These remembrances are a beautiful way to celebrate her life, honor the joy she brought to others, and keep her spirit alive in the hearts of those who loved her.

For those who shared memories, messages, and kind words before her passing, please know that Tara heard them. She knew how much she was loved.

Thank you for the extraordinary love, kindness, and support you have shown Tara and those closest to her.

Though she is no longer with us, the music she made, the lives she touched, the memories we share, and the love she gave so freely will remain with us always.

May her memory live on in the stories we tell, the music we play, the moments we cherish, and the love we continue to share.

Everclear at Mystic Lake Casino Showroom (November 15, 2026)
November 15, 2026 Sunday
Everclear
American Hi-Fi
at Mystic Lake Casino Showroom
90s alternative favorite Everclear is bringing their “Lucky 7 Tour” to the Mystic Lake Casino Showroom, in Prior Lake, on November 15, 2026. Doors open at 7pm, but it is recommended you arrive early due to parking and security and entry.
We saw Everclear in Oct 2025 and wrote, “Very much like last year’s appearance, Everclear is serving their fanbase, who loves them. Looking at the audience, there were some 12-year-olds (some with mohawks), so their parents were passing their love of Everclear to their children. This is a generational thing, but it might also be family thing, as they might relate to Art Alexakis’ very personal song, “Father of Mine”. However they found themselves, they were certainly waiting to hear those songs from The Sparkle and Fade (and So Much for the Afterglow). Alexakis knows this, and would occasionally tease us with snippets of those songs, like “Santa Monica”. “We’ll get to that!” Speaking of fans, Alexakis came on wearing an Everclear cap, and it’s probably a gimmick now, but he said he’s a loser for wearing his own band merch. Let’s fix that, he then offers it to his loyal fanbase. After which, his familiar black fedora-style hat was brought on stage for him to wear.”
American Hi-Fi to open.
