As the resident Weekend Gamer and Fallout fan, I’ll be tuning in to check out the special live streaming from Bethesda for their Fallout Day on October 23, 2025.
It’s the most expensive Kindle ever! As someone who has kept up with e-Ink and their pricing, this $680 (64GB model) for the new Amazon Kindle Scribe Colorsoft should not surprise you. In fact, this Colorsoft seems to be targeting the ReMarkable Paper Pro’s fanbase, as it is a similar size and pricing.
I got an email from Amazon today, stating that as a Prime Member through the Family plan, I now have access to Amazon Music Prime.

With Fallout Season 2 set for December 2025, and Season 1 available on Bluray on...
Amazon Prime Day is here. The event will run through July 11. I ask you to not buy anything on those dates, because Amazon will mess up on your orders (wrong items, wrong location, missing deliveries)… it’s almost not worth it for the savings. I’ve experienced these problems first hand. Oh, also, I should also add to the note that the delivery time takes much longer. Normally you get your products in one or two days, but on Prime Day (this also applies to Black Friday), it may take up to a week! It’s incredibly frustrating, so again, I urge you wait two weeks after July 11, if you plan on buying anything on Amazon.
With Amazon Prime Day coming up on July 8 to 11, I want to remind people to not get anything on those dates. It’s from firsthand experience, but due to the influx of orders, Amazon will often screw something up on your orders or deliveries. I’ve had wrong items or mis-delivered items… and they only happen around Prime Day.
As a diehard Fallout fan, I have been collecting official Fallout merchandises for years and years. When the Amazon television series was announced in 2024, it was the best thing that could have happened for Fallout collectors. It meant that, for the first time in a long time, we got a ton of official Fallout merchandises, thanks to Amazon’s strong licensing department.
As for the gaming, I finally got around to putting together my Galaga Arcade1Up. I’ve had this thing in the original box for more than a year, because I knew eventually, I had to move to Jacksonville, and it was just easier to leave things in its compact state. When I put it together, I soon realized I did not bring my Pac-Man and Street Fighter II console controllers… so instead of putting the Galaga side art, I prefer the bright yellowness of the Pac-Man side.
The next generation of e-ink is here, and it is called Spectra 6.
The original Spectra had only three pigments (red, black, white), but over the years, they evolved to Spectra 6, featuring six colors: red, yellow, blue, white, black, and green… and through those combinations can produce about 60,000 colors.

Do you ever wonder why there are so many Zatoichi films (26 in total)? That’s because it was really meant to be a serial for television, but back in the early sixties, televisions weren’t as common. By the mid-seventies, almost every home in Japan had a television, so Zatoichi continues his adventures in a television show. Between 1974 and 1979, a total of 100 episodes of Zatoichi were produced.
We recently upgraded to a new Vizio 65” 4K Smart TV, as part of leftovers from a Black Friday campaign from Walmart.
I’m very happy with the display for the price (less than $400).
There are a couple of spy thrillers with similar names out right now: Black Doves and Canary Black
If you’ve been paying attention, Black Friday (and Cyber Monday it goes without saying), have been happening earlier and earlier every year. Last year, I said deals were happening as early as November 1, 2023.
The reviews for the Kindle Colorsoft are in, and it’s not good. As you know, I was considering buying it before it was released, but now reading all the negative reviews, I’m definitely avoiding it.
It’s funny how none of the reviews that got free review units points out or were critical of the Colorsoft’s flaws. Can you really trust all those YouTubers or review websites? It takes getting the units in the hands of regular consumers will you see a true review of the product.
If you have Amazon Prime, they’ve been giving away a ton of GOG (and some Epic Games) titles about three months ago. If you haven’t gone there recently head over to gaming.amazon.com and pick up about 50 free video games!
As you may have heard, Amazon is releasing its first color Kindle called the Kindle Colorsoft on October 30, 2024.
The device is a 7-inch tablet that use Kaleido 3 does not appear to be competing with Remarkable Paper Pro, but rather Kobo, who makes a color 7” called the Kobo Libra Colour. The Kobo Colour out in April 2024 and have been slowly converting Kindle readers to Kobo readers.
Further proof, the Kindle Scribe was Amazon’s as an answer to Kobo’s Kobo Elipsa, which is a 10” device for notetaking (but also the ability to read Kobo books).
When I first saw the Remarkable Paper Pro online in early September 2024, I dismissed this because of how expensive it was. It’s about $600, and part of that price includes the required pen. Plus, I was massively disappointed in Boox Note Air 3 C due to the poor color representation of Kaleido 3.
After watching some comic book pages on the RPP, I was definitely interested buying this as my digital comic book reader! Unfortunately, as an e-reader, it absolutely sucks. The Remarkable only supports PDF and ePub, with no support for Kindle Books or CBR (the popular comic book archive format).
